Cross Country

My Horse is called Toppey and she is 22 years old.I have had her for 4 years and she is honestly the best pony I have ever owned! I have been riding for 10 years and when I first got her I wouldn't even jump a 1ft jump without getting incredibly nervous because of my old pony. When I first got Toppey I would never have thought I'd have the confidence to jump 2ft6-2ft9 courses,  jumping 3ft3 and jumping cross country jumps and hedges well over a meter. She is ridden 2/3 times a week in the winter and in the summer every day. We do everything, Cross country, Show jumping, dressage, showing, hacking, galloping on the beach &  fun rides. She has also lost so much weight, weighing 640kg when we first got her and now she weighs around 450kg! You wouldn't ever guess she is 22 when you see her, everyone thinks she is about 10 with the way she behaves, especially xc. Last year we nearly lost her to an ovarian tumor which was producing testosterone making her act as a stallion and  2/3 of the outcomes resulted in her dying. Amazingly she pulled through the 4 hour op much to the vets surprise and now she is happy as ever, We are now back doing fitness work to build up the muscle she has lost and the vet said that next summer she should be as good as ever- maybe even better because the tumor was attached to her spine so whenever she moved it was causing her pain and so now she should be much happier jumping and just generally moving around!

Louie
Louie is mum horse. He is a grey Highland type and is 16yro and 14.1hh. He is lovely- an almost identical clone to Toppey which is what mum wants character wise! He is so well behaved and even though he is mums horse I hack him out occasionally and and thinking of showing him next summer which should be really good fun as he is such a lovely mover and is so well schooled!

Daisy



Daisy is 4 years old and was born at our house. At the moment we are working on breaking her and she is currently being walked out in her bridle and being lead off Toppey when we go out on hacks. We are hoping once she is broken that we will be able to do driving with mum round the lanes which should be quite fun. I am so proud of how she has turned out seeing that when she was 6 months old we couldn't catch her and she was completely wild! She is now the complete opposite! She will gallop up to you in the field and loves attention and going out on walks! We did 1 show when she was a yearling and she was so well behaved. However we haven't been able to do any more since then because she has developed sweet itch. BUT We think we now have it under control and if all goes well we will be showing again this year starting in february:)
